The HD was plugged in! I have not removed it. I will shutdown, do a reboot without it and a reboot with it in. Can I hotplug the SATA HD? I can try that and look at dmesg if it would help but don't...

Tj, Your problem is with machid. It needs to be set to the hex value of 3542. Set it in console.

I've got the original sources pulled from ZyXEL for 310/320/325, so when we start in on that unified uboot tree, that should help greatly. I'll have a look at those settings for the Arch kernel as well.
